Registered Marriage & Couples Counsellor

As a marriage and couples counsellor I recognize seeking counselling can be a challenging and difficult step. For those who have struggled to resolve or overcome issues on their own, seeking help may feel like a failure. For others, opening up to a therapist and discussing painful issues can be intimidating and sometimes an overwhelming idea. As a wife and mom of 5, combined with years of counselling experience, I am abundantly aware of how challenging life can become.

I am passionate about relationship counselling and navigating the complexity and uniqueness of it. I aspire to provide a safe, confidential and judgment free experience, fostering feelings of relief, support and strength. My goal is to provide couples with affective counselling and tools for lasting change. To empower them with the ability to create the happy and healthy futures that they desire. I work to provide all my clients with a comfortable counselling experience that supports growth through effective techniques and insight, sincerity, respect and acceptance.

In my private practice I have had the privilege to work with a wide variety of clients including individual, couple, children, teen and family. My therapeutic approach to counselling is dependent on the unique needs of my clients and their concerns. My approach is designed around the beliefs that issues can be overcome through short-term intervention.

I use multiple techniques, but I am not limited to, Attachment-based therapy, Psychobiological Approach to Couples Counselling (PACT), Gottman Method, Psychoanalytical, CBT, and Interpersonal Therapy to identify and resolve emotional and behavioural issues. I develop an individualized therapeutic approach to each couple that I provide counselling services to.

I am a registered member in good standing with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association, CPCA(#3102).

I am a registered member and in good standing with the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists, CCPCP (#1216).

Registered Therapeutic Counsellor

As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, I am aware of how challenging it can be to juggle the complexity of life.

Along the way many people find they lose sight of their happiness and balance, and feel unable to find their way out no matter how hard they try. Throughout life many experiences, beliefs, and conditionings influence our life’s direction, and create limited beliefs systems such as lack of self-trust and self-sabotage. These limited beliefs can highly inhibit and even destroy our dreams, our visions and goals we once had for ourselves, and our purpose in life.

Many people are left feeling “stuck”, and at times are unable to see the end to their struggles.

Many people find talking to an experienced, trained counsellor helps them to turn things around.

Counselling services can provide an objective, positive and confidential space where one can discover what it is that is causing them to feel stuck, or powerless. This awareness allows the person to develop new strategies and solutions that enable them to take back control of their life and regain happiness within it.

My approach to counselling is to respect and value the uniqueness of every individual and where they are in their life. I work to support them using creativity, with warmth, understanding and at times, a touch of humour. I also like to adapt to different personalities and offer fresh insight in an affirming, supportive and jargon-free way. I feel it is important to always check-in with my clients to ensure effectiveness and clarity in a positive direction.

My goal is to assist and support my clients in discovering underlying issues or beliefs that block or restrict their happiness. These changes are created through self-discovery, implementing effective changes and strategies, and creating a custom fit solution to their barriers.
